I bought it because it was available but really wanted Lost Odyssey (which I couldn't find at the time - but have since purchased). I decided that I needed a new RPG after playing through all of Oblivion, Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and Fable II and their respective add-on packs and enjoyed the Final Fantasy games on the PS2.
All of that background aside - I'm not overly impressed. The story is confused, the english is horribly dubbed over the animation (often people are talking but no mouths are moving) and the death knell of RPG's in this day and age of massive storage - there are 'save points' and if you die you go back to the last one. There are places in the game that get progressively harder and save points are an hour or more apart - so you die, you pissed away your last hour plus of advancement. Not fun...
I decided that I would play all of these things to completion before starting the next one, so I have Lost Odyssey sitting here waiting. Based on what I can tell I'm about 75 percent done and it can't be over soon enough. ;p
